Also in the Independent. They'll want United to return the favour with Rooney.
[delusion] The no bid bit was carefully worded, no formal approach yet etc [/delusion] Having a good think about an approach. Trying to get up the confidence to talk to them.

Only thing is Mata will be cheaper than Ozil and at least 2 times better.

Makes sense for Chelsea to loan him until the summer in order to get results against teams battling for the league?

Also improves relationship between both clubs in regards to the scouser?

He'd be superb at United.

He and Kagawa behind van Persie would be superb.

£#%&!ing United.
Kagawa

£#%&!en Kagawa

re Mata - Well surely the press have heard something of some substance. No decent newspaper likes to look totally stupid at being so wide of the mark. Hard to believe as it is...

Losing Rooney to an English club would be a disaster . Hes only gonna get better in the next few years. Already see his deciding ball or shot vastly improved. If it goes through this Mata deal. Rooney is up for grabs and Chelsea will go hell for leather to get him

We won't sell them Rooney as at this stage it would be yet another loss of face in a humiliating season and there's no way they'll sell Mata to strengthen a huge rival that is badly struggling.

how will it work on the books if we get him? Will we have spent 37 million on a player or will it be 37 million less all the income this year?

i'd love it if mata came to united.
even though i love rooney and i believe he is our best player, i'd have no problems getting rid of him to chelsea or anywhere else.

i'm sick of the 'will he stay, or will he go', which happens every so often with him. maybe that is all created by the media, but wayne never comes out and says 'yes i'm with united.'
he is one of my favourite players for sure, but i don't think he is happy at united and hasn't been for a while.
i'd rather see the guy enjoy his football tbh. he has given a lot to united.
players come and go all the time, as long as he doesn't go to city.

a move would be good for wayne's career plus his england career too. mind you i dunno if the family would go live in london?
i think mata would get a new lease on life if he played for us. i've always thought he was one of chelsea's very best players.
would chelsea sell to us?
yes, but i think it would have to include rooney.
mind you they would be happy with hernandez and i'd love for him to leave. they need a striker.

Sounds like Chelsea desperately fishing for offers.

£40m would get us Draxler, or almost any central midfielder around.

This is the solution if/when Rooney goes. £30m must be the compromise. I can't see us going higher and Chelsea want to sell.

Love a world class CM though David
