Which is why he’s kept quiet because as soon as he mentions leaving etc Barca will see that as a breach of contract or what ever and see it as a way out of paying up. I think we’ll eventually end up paying part of what he’s owed. |

Just checked how long is left on FDJ contract, 4 years, if he sees out his contract, he'll be 120m better off. No wonder his first choice is to stay
Edit: £#%&! me, I just saw that 33 year old Lewandowski was given a 4 year contract! Including the 50m transfer fee, total cost 125m. 245m Euros for 4 years of just these two players |

Wouldn’t surprise me if he wants what was deferred from the years he’s already been there, plus extra to compensate for ending his contract early. Barca probably want a club like Chelsea to come in and pay more, making it financially easier for them to pay off de Jong. United and de Jong should be negotiating some kind of structured payments for his payoff from Barca over the next year or two, with big penalty clauses in future transfer fee instalments to Barca if they fail to do so. With United then making up the short fall on any Barca default in paying de Jong. United get what they want, de Jong gets his wages, and Barca have an easier time making payments, with an incentive to do so |
