Even with the armbands , it’s all for show. If you really are against Qatar and their views on lgbt you just don’t go end of .
These guys are multimillionaire footballers , I’d understand if they have jobs and families to feed which would then put them in a difficult situation. They don’t care, neither to the journos. State of the BBC the other day. Say with Alex Scott. You don’t like the Qatar view? Great, that’s her right. Don’t go then profiting off it by flying out there and becoming a presenter . She still has contracts with the bbc /sky or whoever she is a pundit for during the normal season. Hypocrites that’s all they are. Jumping on a bandwagon. If they actually cared, they wouldn’t turn up. End of. They’d boycott it. The players and media surrounding it all have big enough pockets to boycott it. Everything else is just for show. It should never have been given to these #@&%!s in the first place. ThT being said, most nations on earth have a right to being called “#@&%!s” |

And doesn't wearing an armband when FIFA have explicitly told the teams not to make an even bigger impact infront of millions more people who will be watching the games while the tournament is actually taking place, rather than not going and being forgotten about before the tournament even starts? Surely the players getting more press and attention on the subject is better for the cause they're supporting, and doing more good than not going at all? Getting mad that 'it's all for show' is one of the oddest takes imo. |

It's been brushed to one side now for the rainbows. Nobody is being arrested for being gay in Qatar let alone killed. Not a single person has ever been killed in Qatar for being gay, but all you here is how they kill the gays. Now you've got people going out of their way to antagonise the Conservative people of Qatar. Just respect their way of life, or do Muslims and their religion not deserve the respect others get? Honesty its too much, take a look on social media and see what these people think of the BBC and Alex Scott shitting all over their culture for a few quid. Alan Shearer looking down his nose at Qatar while sucking the Saudis asshole. Hypocritical bastards the lot of them. |

There have been cases of gay foreign nationals being arrested and serving time in Qatari jails for being gay. And they're the only ones we actually hear about because it's experienced by foreign nationals who can actually tell of their experiences when they gtfo. It's literally written in the Qatari penal code that that homosexual acts are illegal and punishable with up to three years in jail and a fine, with the death penalty for Muslim homosexuals. Now that we're clear that being a homosexual in Qatar is not at all safe, never mind law abiding with their backwards laws, you can go back to your shit wums. |

I agree that it should never have been held in qatar and we should just have boycotted, but then we should boycott every fifa tournament until fifa is clean. it should be part of the bid process that the hosts must accept people being fabulous, watery sponsor beer and rights for construction workers.
