Wouldn't touch any of Raiola's players with a barge pole.

There is no player so good that they must be signed at all costs.

If all these clubs want to sign him, but Dortmund are determined to keep him for one more year, then why does a club not bid a little more than next years release fee with an agreement that he stays on loan at Dortmund this season?

Normal deal is 4 years with a 5th year option so make it 5 years with a 6th year option.

Sign him on whatever wages you are going to offer him but with his first years contract identical to his current Dortmund contract. Dortmund then pay his wages for this season on loan. Everybody wins, Dortmund keep him for the year extra but still get a little more than the release fee, signing club gets the deal done this summer and avoids the circus next summer.

I’d imagine because his agents are expecting another big year of hype building to further build his wage/signing on fee/agent fee prospects.

Do we really want to take another risk on a world class player not being arsed when he signs for us from Fat£#%&! Incorporated? Raiola can £#%&! the £#%&! off and then £#%&! off some more.

This tbh.

Would love to see de Ligt and eventually Gravenberch here but they are Raiola clients so they’ll have to £#%&! off I’m afraid.

Yeah same.

One of the best things Ole has done is the ‘cultural reset’. We’ve seen a shift on our attitude towards signings and you could sense it change when we didn’t pursue Dybala.

We shouldn’t be offering bumper new deals for mediocrity to Pogba and we shouldn’t be selling ourselves to Riaola to have him question our ambition every six months.

£#%&! that and £#%&! them.

Because the player can either go for a large sum now (equals more money for Fatty), or he can go for little next season (equals more money for fatty).

Why would you sign one of the most exciting players in the world and loan him back? He either goes this summer for a huge fee (over £120m) or he goes for his release fee next season (£70m-ish) with him and Raiola pocket £50m in fees.

And there is always the remote possibility of a career affecting injury while you've loaned him back to Dortmund.

Because Dortmund have shown with Sancho last season they can stick to their guns, this way you can nip in front of your rivals and get the deal done.
