Thumbs down

City got 10 years each out of Sergio Aguero and David Silva, when at the same time we were chucking money at Phil Jones and Ashley Young.

"No Value".

Bought right around the time Fergie was trotting out his "no value" %@#$&!s.

The business the club did between 2009 and 2012 let us down really badly. We got rid of two world class players and brought in some real dross.

Out

Cristiano Ronaldo
Carlos Tevez

IN

Mame Biram Diouf
Gabriel Obertan
Antonio Valencia
Michael Owen
Chris Smalling
Anders Lindegaard
Bebe
Chicharito
Phil Jones
David De Gea
Paul Scholes (out of retirement)
Ashley Young

We should have been building the foundations of a new team to replace the likes of scholes, ferdinand, carrick and Rooney... not filling up the squad with bargain basement rubbish.

That's exactly why we are where we are now. People helping our owners. Including Fergie.

When we sold Ronaldo for a world record fee and didn't replace him the writing was on the wall.

BBC Sport been reading Fred again?

Manchester United have made an offer for Argentine forward Aguero, 32, who will leave Manchester City in the summer, with Chelsea, Inter Milan and Paris St-Germain also among the clubs to table their interest. (Foot Mercato, via Star)

They all know it, they just won't admit it.

Robinho, never heard of City. Thanked Chelsea for signing him.
Aguero, wanted to stay at Atletico
Silva, wanted to stay at Valencia.
Gary Cook, publicly referred to City as Man Utd.

Tinpot f***ing club.

Very much this... he let the squad run down on his watch. He should’ve called the £#%&!ers out.

I think it's nailed on Kane is going there to replace him.

Spurs need the cash, they've dealt with City before selling Walker for £50m so they know they get the right price. Can see it being a straight £100m & given their precarious financial state after the stadium move & Covid it's a massive sum for them. Not least getting Kane's wages off the books also. Just wonder if this puts the nail in the coffin for Spurs being able to challenge for Top 4 in the coming seasons.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said the club are unlikely to buy a striker this summer to replace the outgoing Sergio Aguero.

"I don't know what is going to happen but at these prices we are not going to buy any striker".

"It's impossible. We cannot afford it. All the clubs are struggling financially, us as well.
So, Haaland, Mbappe and Kane this summer then.

I suppose it's too much to hope the press room erupted into laughter after that statement?

No, they probably all sat in hushed silence as the lord and saviour of football espoused another of his twitchy autistic sermons.
