The manager rarely shows any tactical variety when we are chasing a game.

It took until the 86th minute to sacrifice one of the more defensive minded midfielders to try something different. These changes should be happening around 60-70 minutes when we aren't winning.

So no surprise VDB didn't come on. He doesn't have the trust of the manager. And tbf, he's generally disappeared when he has been given a chance anyway

vdb is a slow average player who doesn’t do enough to warrant a place in the team. It’s that simple.

p.s. pogba starts for every team in Europe mate. let’s put some respect on his name please.
I’ve not missed any point. The only point you made is that a lack of interest is a barometer of quality. It isn’t and there’s two very good players here as examples of why it isn’t. Your point didn’t extend beyond that.

There has been enquiries from big teams this summer we knocked them back if you believe the papers. And not everything makes the papers aswell.

If VdB puts in a transfer request TONIGHT you can bet your bottom dollar there will be many takers.

Then take the cash
We need defensive midfielders who can pick a pass not another number 10.

May as well sell him before the deadline.

Problem is nobody has any money.

Reeks of an Ed Woodward signing . He looks like the type of player that excels in the number 10 position. Clearly even if he hasn’t been playing matches if he was doing great in training he would play. Ole isn’t going to not play him out of spite .

Yep

Made easy for him by VDS at Ajax.

There’s obviously a good player there but Ole just doesn’t fancy him because he doesn’t know how to fit him into the line up.

breaking it down

alot of you don't watch any football other than united but here goes.

arsenal used to have this tidy little player called hleb. liked to operate in the 10 position, light weight, loves short give and go passing and all that.
another player of similar ilk would be Aaron Ramsey.
vdb is similar to these players, how would you fit them in our team. the answer is they be on the bench. neither is good enough to take pogba or bruno's place and only an idiot would put either of them in the engine room that gives pogba/bruno license to roam.

You watch a lot of Arsenal by the sounds of it? You and Tronics? Wow, huge revelation.

Hleb was a proper player.

Then maybe we should get a coach who would fit VdB in.

So your example of how much more broad your football knowledge is than everyone else’s is two Arsenal players?

Wow. No Liverpool players you could reference. Heard that Gerrard was decent.

very Arsenal-esq

He isn’t a United number 10. Never in a million years. Not even close to be talented enough for us to build a team around him.

Ultimately, it's very simple. We've got him, Fred, Matic and The Scottish Player for two places in the side. I'd get rid of the lot and get in Ndidi, Niguez or Kante because they're more the sort of player we're after.

The question Ole has is, is it easier to teach Beek how to be a DM or Fred how to pass?

I feel sorry for Van De Beek, he's basically lost a year of his career at United.

Getting passed over today for Jesse Lingard was brutal. If I were him I'd hand in my transfer request and head of to Real Madrid.
