Wants his pay-off. Basically saying he's happy to be a @#%&! and an outcast unless he gets his money.

Either we pay and we're effectively selling him for 20 mil, or West Ham cough up the extra. Don't really care as long as he's gone.

Same as Jones, more interested in getting every last penny than he is playing

United don’t feel they could get a replacement in time for the right money and want the money available to go elsewhere so have opted not to pay him off, it would seem.

Todibo was quoted at €45-50m
Pavard, the cheaper option, €35-40m

By the time Maguire is sold and paid off we’d make a loss taking money away from the budget for midfield.

Any pay off for him would presumably had to have been paid up in a lump sum, whereas a transfer fee received would be over a number of years. Could it be that in terms of freeing up money right now, selling him but having to pay him off would actually not make any difference to what we’ve got available, in fact it might even put a dent in the cash we have right now?

Basically, would cost us money to sell and replace him, without really getting the player we want. Money needs to go elsewhere.

Disappointing, but £#%&! the fat headed @#%&!. He won’t play.

Maybe he thought forcing him through 90 minutes of watching us close up might have changed his mind about staying.

Can advertise as "100% clean sheet ratio this season!".

Think he just wanted to insult him by bringing Lindelof on instead. Ritual humiliation of Maguire is absolutely fine by me and if he stays I genuinely hope it happens over and over again.

He should slowly ramp up the humiliation by bringing on a less & less talented/experienced player instead of Maguire until he brings on some kid from the youth team who's only been at OT for 2 weeks and Maguire just sits there on the bench crying.
