if he'd lost the dressing room united would not be in the cup final, would not have got anywhere near 4th and would not have dug out a great result and/or performance every single time the heat came on since xmas.
Van gaal's aim was to go close to the title and finish top 3 and then win it next season.. And that objective was set with the expectation city and Chelsea would be the teams likely to finish above us.
you may be arrogant enough to dismiss what leicester have done but it doesn't mean everyone else is. your dogma will change over the next few seasons when it suddenly dawns on you that the landscape in english football has totally changed. clubs who had to sell no longer have to. clubs who couldn't attract the best players suddenly can. the pool of talent is levelling off with ever-improving sports science and facilities. the difference between a £12m player and a £30m has closed right up. etc etc etc
Judging by the state of United, Ferguson didn't build much of a legacy either.
In fact, everything you just said above would be equally as applicable if you changed 'mourinho' to 'Ferguson'.
i can't decide if that's your most clueless post ever or just your standard bitterness
Name a longer serving manager at Chelsea or Real Madrid in recent memory.

so your point is that no manager has built any kind of legacy at those clubs in recent history? or it's that you really really really want united to be run like them?
