3 at the back with one of them a sweeper/libero and the twins on either side of them

2 centre mids with kagawa ahead of them

and Nani

and Welbeck

even if I just see this once I'll consider it progress

Would like to see Berbatov given a decent run - he's better than Hernandez or Wellbeck will ever be. Just can't afford to have a player of his quality not involved.

I can just imagine the beautiful chaos of that experiment.

2-0 down away to Southampton, United revert to flat back 4 after being jeered off at HT.

This team in 80% of the games, 95% of the league games

De gea
Rafa Smalling Vidic Evra
Carrick
Cleverly Kagawa
Nani Rooney Young
Welbeck

Try to kill teams off rather than sit on a 1 goal lead.

The football played like it was at the start of the season last year, not like the rest of the season.

Kids brought off the bench in games instead of Ando/park/giggs etc to give them game time WITH most of the 1st team out, rather than a select 11 v QPR.

Trophies? yeah but id rather have us playing free flowing attractive football.

I won't let something as trivial as that destroy my plans.

you're probably right. and Ferguson saying for the next 10 years that they'd tried to introduce a bit of tactical imagination but the modern-day fans just don't have the patience for it.

seriously but, the thing is United have spent probably 50% of their time with effectively 2 at the back in home matches for the last 10 years anyway, so isn't it about time they weren't still constantly exposed as a shambles when the attack breaks down (or to put it another way, when Rooney ignores the right pass and hopelessly gives the ball away in the middle of the opposition's half)

this'll do for me if I can't have a £#%&!ing libero ever

edit: i'd leave one of them on the bench obviously, i'm not a cheat

agreed - we should get the FA to allow us extra players rather than extra time at the end of games if we aren't winning

Good uns.

I want to see....

Rooney take some £#%&!ING responsibility this season. Work hard, get himself lean, fit and fast. Learn to control a ball and bully people again.

Park sold/released/put down.

I want us to play with a quicker tempo. Passing the ball forwards. Being brave in possession.

Have midfield players that run past the front.

The players to find some back bone. Grow some £#%&!ING balls. £#%&!ing kick £#%&! out of someone, just once. Get an edge, be a set of mean bastards when they have to be. Just £#%&!ing kick a @#%&! ffs. But £#%&!ing mean it.

Valencia to use his left peg.

Carrick to start the season in good form.
