I could forsee problems with insurance given it was a pre-existing injury. He really should retire in all fairness, you'd have to think the specialist will recommend it.

I had actually allowed myself to think positively for once...I started to think, maybe Hargreaves & Anderson would be like 'new signings' ..that they would turn up for the Season hungry & ready to put in 07/08 level of performances.
As it is, Anderson probably won't pull on a shirt until Halloween at the earliest & Hargreaves will most likely never play again.

Didn't Capello want to pick him for the World Cup? That should have been a hint as to what was coming.

United surely have to sign a midfielder now, don't they? We needed a new midfielder with or without Hargreaves.

Just call it a day son.

You've got to question the wisdom in signing someone like Hargo for that kind of money (20M odd) with his injury record.

Hope that's a lesson learnt on our part.

I cannot understand how MRI scans and the like did not pick up that his knees were in tatters.

He hasn't played for 2 years now. Can't even say he's going to be missed now. Still need to bring a midfielder (or two) in. I'll donate a couple of quid, dig deep lads.

Gone very very quiet, hasn't it. Clearly deciding between two clubs.

Was looking it was just Chelsea then the man utd portugal stuff came up.

Hope he chooses Chelsea in all honesty. Bit underwhelming our targets, an overpriced Sneijder, poor mans Lampard with excessive amounts of tattoos on him, decent price at 15m euros though. Hardly worth replacing Carrick with him. Not an improvement, if anything less of a player when both are on form.

Doesn't get much more value for money than Khedira for 14m euro max and VDV for a definite bargain from Madrid. We'd be hard to stop and it wouldn't cost much.
