Shows you how desperately £#%&!ing shit everyone has been this season that this Sheffield United team which are painfully £#%&!ing average, are in with a chance of finishing in the top 5.

Jesus wept.

Finish about 8th and if degea has let in the first two goals they would have been a separate thread

to put it in perspective.

20 years ago... Teams with about 9 or 10 wins out of 31 games at this stage of the season would be usually fighting a relegation battle, not competing for european places ffs.

It happens don’t worry pal

Ps they’ve lost 4 games. Two to Newcastle 1 to city and 1 to Liverpool when the new degea let one through his legs

the whole standard of the league has gone to pot - which is why those scouse @#%&!s have run away with a league title with one of the most average midfields you'll ever see win a league and champions league in 2 years.

Sickening.

The standard has gone up if anything. More clubs have more money and can buy better quality from abroad -ala Wolves- so there’s more competition. If the PL were shit, it would reflect in Europe; it hasn’t.

No way Terry took a knee... lol

Any @#%&! can say anything at anytime...

The standard of talent has probably increased as it always does over time, but at least half the league is happy to finish 17th. And if any of those clubs develop a good player they get snapped up in two or three seasons.

the standard in europe at the moment isn't exactly £#%&!ing high wouldn't you say?

The standard of your average player in the premier league may have risen, but the serious lack of standout top class players throughout the league is stark. Never has ambition been more low than it is right now. Teams just happy to finish in 16th and save their bank balance

Just the athleticism and control as well. The older players may have had a better mentality but this crowd would have run them off the park. I think it’s easy to have rose tinted glasses about these things, but I watched a few full games from the 90’s during the break and it was utter gash. The 08 team were the perfect blend of athleticism, technique and mentality. They would have crushed the 99 team imo.

See my post above. Liverpool have absolutely dominated this league through having 2-3 top class players up front backed up by a load of players who are varying levels of ability but work like £#%&!ing trojans with unbelievable levels of stamina. Every week they're at it, they chase and work the opposition over.

If you contrast that with United who have some very talented players but there's at least half a dozen players in our first team who don't turn up 3 out of every 5 games
