Al contrario, i'm sure we'll get a result out of Benfica. I make no claim to further progression in the last 16 however with our away form as it is.

Possibly. Benfica are (were when we played them anyway) mother£#%&!ers to break down and one of the teams you don't want to face in the group stages when you need something from the game.

That said, you should beat them by at least two because they've not been as strong this season and you are at home.

only needing a draw should see us through. If we needed a win i'd be a bit more pessimistic

But then you're running the risk of Ferguson playing a more defensive team (even at home). You all know what that means....

At home this time though.

We'll qualify for sure. Playing this way away from home though, we'll need a very favourable draw to advance beyond 16.

if we can't draw against benfica at home we don't deserve to progress full stop.

We will go through by scraping a draw with a last minute clearance of the line.

We dont have the squad to win two major trophies so i will happily sacrifice this competition in favour of at least giving Chelsea a bit of competition.

The one good thing about this is it gives us a chance to pay those £#%&!ers back for last season.

Wasn't the reason O'Shea was brought on to try and prevent conceding a late one? It cannot have been with a view to trying to score?

I'd struggle to justify it at all to be honest.

Couldn't agree more. Seriously, if a bloke asked me 'could you not agree 1% more?'...I would have to answer ' no,I already agree as much as is humanly possible'

£#%&! knows, I was in the bath

That's even worse though surely???

I know Carrick's not renowned for his shooting, but O'Shea?

to be honest it's a travesty that he even makes the bench, for defensive or midfield cover.

the biggest problem tonight was playing rooney on the left, knowing how well him and saha have been doing, credit the all time tinkerman for that one
