These two were excellent again and give us so much more than Matic and Pogba (although Matic still has his place). Fred especially was top last night

Credit where it’s due they played well up to lockdown and were great in the 2-0 over the bitters in March.

Think they have a role in the big games but we need more guile and creativity against the Burnley’s of this world - enter the Beek

They screened the defence and covered brilliantly. Gave the defenders more time and composure to play out the back. They fit the system and style more than Pogba and Matic. - both who are and should now be good bench options if we want to change the system.

Fred and Sauce were integral to that pre covid run too- peak Sauce was vs Man City

Great options and much easier to get behind than Pogba

Technically they aren't our best midfielders but they bring an honesty, workrate and energy to the side.

All too often when Pogba and to a lesser extent Matic play together we get sloppy and become overun and to easy to get at the defence

Absolutely vital for our team they play the rest works out

They’re very underrated imo. And they’ll only get better the more they play.

please stop linking matic to pogba. if he looks lonely played in a two-man midfield with pogba, it's because of pogba.

matic is still our best defensive midfielder. if he was playing with mctog and fred, maguire could go and smoke a spliff behind the goal.

McT and Fred performing well should give Ole the opportunity to rest him periodically which is vital. Hopefully we’ve finally put the ridiculously long experiment playing Pogba deep to bed now.

it's no coincidence that United went on that long unbeaten run when Fred and McT were the two main CM's in the side. They are willing to work their socks off defensively and get the ball to the guys who can punish teams on the ball.

Ole has to stick with these guys especially in the big games

Love them both personally. Not just for closing down, tackling etc., but because they both look to get the ball forward quickly (and don't £^$$! about/turn like an oil tacker a la Pogba and, to a lesser extent, Matic)
