it's getting to the stage now where they will really start to get the general publics backs up if they keep on whining about how unfair it is when there are people dying.

Their poor relatives have been denied too:

Love the way the article describes a large bus shelter as "their newly installed covered terrace".

TL/DR....

Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin says the current football season could be lost if it cannot be restarted by the end of June.

The more important things will be the legalities. Liverpool are moving from New Balance to Nike this summer. You can't imagine Nike want Liverpool still playing in New Balance kit past the end of June. Similarly New Balance won't be happy at Liverpool parading a delayed title in Nike kit.

They won't even win their own made up PAR league (again)

But they'll run away with the class and dignity league, nqat.

Whatever happens, it's always tainted. Even if they finish it.

Nobody is gonna be arsed. It'll be weird. It'll always have that asterix by it.

They were on course for a record win in record time and talk of trebles, doubles and now it's some inconvenience we all feel obliged to finish.

I'm going to enjoy just saying "well, we'll never know what would have happened", before strolling out the door. Whistling. Thumbs behind the braces.

It's f***ing great

Well, we do know some things.

The treble/double was gone before all of this hit.
They were on for a potential record breaking league win. But only that. A league win. And it would have put them on the same number of PL wins as Blackburn & Leicester.

I just mean more in terms of how quickly it's unravelled.

They had all of that talk... then the cup exit...then CL, then lost the unbeaten run.... but but hey ho, still all good the league....

Just two more wins.... any day now....

As long as it doesn't resume until April 15th, then googling "earliest that a team has won the Premier League" will still return a picture like this:

Funny. As said, a month ago they were talking about a treble.

Then Chelsea knocked them out of the FA Cup.

Then Atletico knocked them out of Europe.

Then there was a global pandemic and the league season stopped.

If you ignore all the tragic deaths, it's the funniest thing that's ever happened.

Cancellation looking more likely
Players to be told to stop training. All sorts of contract shenanigans. PL and FA talking about "difficult conversations" to come.
Precedents being set - read article about an English lower league team that had already won it's league with games to go and has now had it expunged.

It's only right.

As funny as it would be to see them miss out, for us, being stuck in the Europa league for another season is a high price to pay.

Smallest of prices imo. Good chance we could have ended up back in Europa anyway. At least if it happens this way, we have the bonus of boiled scouse piss for a generation

Regardless of whether they are awarded it or not it will go down in history as a none win unless they somehow manage to complete the season which is highly unlikely.
