Interestingly the question he was answering was about Nevilles criticism of Woodward and recruitment

Here’s his full answer-

For me now, we’ve lost to Liverpool, a team you all say are fantastic and we’ve been in the game until the last kick of the ball and of course we’re disappointed losing the game, we don’t wanna be behind them in the league but there were signs there we are on the right track. Now is not the time to speak about recruitment. We’re looking to Burnley.

Not actually that bad and he doesn’t exactly defend Woodward.

So basically.
  1. We're disappointed to lose to Liverpool
  2. We're disappointed to be behind in the league
  3. This is a presser for the Burnley game, not a discussion about Gary Neville and recruitment.

How awful

Jose came out and questioned the players - didn't end well.

Ole must %@#$&! players behind the scenes, it's not a public thing.

He also cannot come out and say "well, I've got a squad of players who the previous managers overpaid for and Ed was too kind with his contracts so I can't get rid of them. Then there's the permacrocks, what would you do with them?" Unfortunately we are now 2-3 years behind where we should have been. We have no director of football because that would tread on Ed's toes and that's the problem. Moyes was too busy thinking how lucky he was to be here, leaving Woodward free to set the boundaries of his job from the first season. The Glazers should not have allowed Gill and Fergie to leave at the same time.

Absolute bullshit of the highest order.
What do you reckon pal? Should we get someone like Tim Sherwood in? Someone who can stare hard in press interviews? Look all intense?

I think oles style is to trust his players and treat them like adults and professionals- he knows 2-0 loss to the rats isn’t good enough but it also isn’t that bad in the context of where this team is at. Supporters seem to struggle with it but I’m sure the players are fully aware of what isn’t and is good enough.

If he’s still saying this next year having been supported in the transfer window then shoot him.

We lost to the team that's currently World Champions and European Champions and about to stroll to the Premier League. Pundits going overboard on them - best ever blah blah.

We turn up as a an inconsistent side full of youngsters and missing 3 very influential players - 2 of whom have been two of the best of the season. We have a 19 year old left back playing left side of midfield.

They created a fair bit but scored one from a mistake - that's football. Second half after being on the ropes for 10 minutes we try as best we can to take the game to them - look how nervous they became.

Shaw had cramp- WB was knackered - the team gave everything and were close to pulling off what would have been a creditable draw in the circumstances

We're not where we should be - we lack quality and depth - but we fought and gave everything - compare that to how Mourinhou would have played - if you can't see the difference you should be carrying a black spot round. That attitude and commitment was down to the manager and pride.

If he says they are good he's Moyes - poor fella can't win.

The major issue is recruitment - we know we're not good enough and that's clearly not down to him.

Great post. Some are too young to remember the 80s, let alone the 70s, so haven't got sufficient humility or memory to appreciate that we haven't always dominated. We need to accept that Fergie for some reason thought Moyes was good enough.

being out played in large parts and could have easily been 5/6-0 down ninth first half is now celebrated.
are we the best losers now?

fair play to us for only being 1-0 down towards the end of the game.

we are definitely improving.city put out a strong team against us and we almost got beat 1-0 as opposed to the 2-0 we did get beat.... as ole said....

So many criticisms Marlo so seriously what is the solution?
New Manager - who would you choose?
Pogba - what would you do?
Who would you REALISTICALLY sign?

Kidding ourselves if we think we were close to pulling off a draw. If it was boxing it would have been a 10-8 round. And even if we were close, what about all the losses and draws that came before it? They get cancelled out of all the analysis?

And I know it's not all Ole's fault before anyone starts banging on about Dave £#%&!ing Sexton.

What's with this obsession of asking managers to comment on a pundit's opinion?

No one asked Fergie at his press conferences whether he had read Paul Parker's latest Eurosport column.

If we'd come back having been dominated hopefully with a dodgy VAR goal I'd have laughed my socks off.

Sometimes in football you get dodgy results - this wasn't one and we don't want to be best losers we want to be up there turning the £#%&!ers over and shoving City back down. Years of under investment and poor recruitment have got us here - it's not going to be fixed overnight.

1. Spurs - took Pochetino 3 years at spurs to clear out the crap and build a team. And look at them now - key players wanting to go. Think he'd do better with Woodward?

2. Liverpool - last won the League in 1990 yes 1990 we were £#%&!ing 13th - 31 points behind. They have been shocking since - finished 8th 3 times. Fair £#%&!s to Klopp he's done an amazing job.

We need some stability, some vision and a lot of investment not quick fixes - we know that from our years in the wilderness.
