There are a few posters here who have lived their *entire life* with SAF as our manager.

That's pretty sobering to fortysomethings like myself

I can barely just barely remember BFR

Mainly because I remember how happy my Grandpa was that he was gone

If asked though, I will happily say I have never known MUFC without SAF

If I hadn't seen such riches....

When he took over, there was still a Soviet Union, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia. Thatcher had still to win her final election victory and "the two Davids" ran the "Alliance"......

Chernobyl had melted down earlier that year and the "Big Bang" had gone off in the City of London just days earlier.

Maybe someone can find out what the number 1 single back then was

i love everything about the man. a bloody-mindedness that verges on the religious. a refusal to shift from old-fashioned sporting values of hard work, balls and commitment married to a deep appreciation of individual genius. an obsessive will to win that runs right through the club. and a continuing decades-long £#%&! you to the pondlife that poses as football journalists and the imbeciles that run english football.

better treasure every minute we've got left because whoever replaces him won't even come close, whatever success we have in the future.

Yeah same I vaguely remember him being in charge, but being a young whippersnapper I was more interested in my half time crisps and pop than who was in charge
