Default Team v City

Seeing as people are still chatting in the swansea v vermin thread thought id get some United related football thread started

Big game, City are there for the taking imo, be interesting to see if moyes shits his pants or goes for it

Id go:

Dave
Rafael
Rio
Vidic
Evra
Nani
Carrick
Fellaini
Valencia
Rooney
RVP

Would usually say kagawa ahead of Valencia but hard to leave him out after Tuesday plus provides defensive cover. You've got to think we will be up against it for periods of the game.

Properly structured team with 2 centre mids and two wingers, rafael / evra providing support and Rooney dropping back to make 5 in midfield when needed, 2-1 United

Same 11 that played on tuesday for me. Rafael wont be ready to come straight back in especially for a big game like this one

Agreed. Even if Rafael was ready I would prefer to see Smalling play as he did well on Tuesday and Rafael can be a little too pumped up for these games.

Just not convinced about starting kagawa on the left. he gives very little defensive cover and wants to drift inside all the time, city will have navas wide right and zabaleta up and down that flank, asking for trouble exposing evra to that, especially seeing as he is on safari himself quite often.

Personally for this game would rather play rooney on the left and kagawa in the middle behind rvp. not sure that would go down well with our wazza though.

Think moyes will just bring in young (possibly giggs) for kagawa.

This after Tuesday's performance if rafoh is fit.

That team is our best team IMO with nani or Zaha over Valencia, although Valencia was outstanding on Tuesday.

Agree, should have said although id have the same 11 i'd have Kaggers centre and Rooney left as he will offer more support for Pat (Tin hat on waiting for the Rooney brigade)

Might as well oblige seeing as I'm bored.

You'd move the player who has scored more goals against Manchester City than any other player in United's history & has scored 3 in his last 2 games out of a striking position to make way for a player that has been unconvincing at best in his time at United?? For what reason??
How has Kagawa managed to build up such unwavering faith & support ffs

How about we move Van Persie out of position? Just a thought. He hasn't really turned up since the Swansea game.
