If we could defend we’d be top of this league

We’d certainly be closer. With the run of the fixtures leading into today, I I expected City to be above us, but not by so much and at least 4 points of it is down to our sloppiness.

mind boggling just how weak we are when dealing with set pieces
The only reason any focus is on the foul is because it was in the last seconds. Fouls happen in that position all the time. If it was the 34th minute the only thing we would be talking about would be the collective defensive inability to defend a free-kick from level with the edge of the centre circle. No-one shows any desire to impose any degree of authority back there.

would be a stupid foul at any stage of the game, but the timing did make it worse.

A little over a goal a game, then.

All on De Gea that last night - he's a £#%&!ing @#%&!.

When the defence make a mistake, he should be there to make sure nothing comes of it. His starting position is always shit. When that free kick came in, he should have already sniffed the danger and been on his 6 yard line to collect. The fact he shit his pants and practically turned his back on Calvert Lewin is £#%&!ing criminal and he needs dropping.

Cost us v Sheff United and cost us last night. 5 points right there.

Also, special mention to Marcus Rashford for his finishing last night. It was like he won a competition

BUT.... despite all that, we played really well last night and should have been out of sight and scored another 6. It's better lads. Not quite good enough but so much better than what we've been served up over the years.

Stupid fouls happen more times than you can count in a game. The end result should not be a goal. Unless it is a penalty. Or, sometimes, on the edge of the box.

Our manager not happy about the amount of time that was added on at the end - just MRD syndrome, or did he actually have a point?

Only 2 of the last 5 goals conceded were set pieces.

Thumbs down

Still fuming.

De Gea should be forced to train, eat and shower alone this week.

4 minutes we weren't on top for in that game, and we conceded 3 times. Absolutely £#%&!ing disgraceful.

Looking at the Sheffield United game as well, we've let the opposition out of their own half at OT on about 7 occasions in 2 games and conceded 5 goals

Can't believe Martial allowed it tbh useless £#%&!ing forwards

I'm still pissed off.

Check the stats.
Everton had 6 shots.
3 on target.
All 3 ended up goals.

The worst part is that this team has more moments like that in them.

That Fulham game could have ended in tears with that deflected shot that just went wide in the last seconds. Villa had a chance to make it 2-2 when Pogba went for a run into the box instead of taking it into the corners.

We got stung at Leicester with a late goal out of nothing too.

Our inability to slow a game down and the ease with which we will relinquish control is an issue. I think it’s just part of our development and we’ll improve, but gosh darn it if it ain’t half frustrating while it happens.
