Really wanted a left back. Think it’s more important for the coming season than a centre half. A left back and a right sided forward.

So, reading between the lines it appears that this deal is a 25m or so transfer - not loan - and there is a 41m buy back clause should Madrid need him back. , sorry I’m just laughing as I’m typing. So that means if he does really well RM can just step in whenever they want and pick themselves up a top LB for 16m? And presumably this would be unenforceable unless the player was also a willing signatory to those terms - meaning he hasn’t kicked a ball yet and he’s already agreed to leave?

My God. What a two bob outfit they are. We may need a left back, but I would have been ashamed of us for accepting that deal. If we didn’t do it for Haaland no way we should be doing it for a nobody 3rd choicer.
