One things for sure we wont have any new players for the opening day of the season.

We need to lose a few more games and miss a load more chances before we realise we need to buy.

It's easy to say but it doesn't have to be about buying the finished article from somewhere.

Leicester bought Tielemans, Ndidi, Maddison and Soyuncu combined for a couple of million more than we paid for Maguire and all of them are the ideal age for building a team, would massively improve our squad options and at least two would start.

I will never as long as I live understand why we let Tielemans go to another club for £40million.

Our scouting department has been stealing a living for years.

Apparently we should be signing Danny Ings...

£#%&!ing hell, Jamie O'Hara really is the worst pundit in the history of football.

Even Neil Custis can't hide his distain for him...

Ings is a good player. Unfashionable and I’m not suggesting he’d be right for us, but he’s a good player regardless. Got unlucky at Anfield with injuries and such.

O'Hara ffs

If you'd have told me 5 years ago that you could win a title with a forward line of a Chelsea reject, a player from Southampton and a guy with teeth like The Mask, then we'd have all £#%&!ing laughed too.

Sounds like it's panning out exactly as the majority on this poll have predicted.

They're doing to Ole what they did to Mourinho.

There is nobody that can or will buy a £3-4bn company that is £500m in debt and requires £500m-1bn of investment for a return of £50-60m a year. Nobody.

We will never be rid of the Glazers unless we/they go bankrupt.

This.

We are far too expensive, it's that simple. We're so laden with debt/loans that whoever buys us will have to spend best part of $4 billion just to acquire us and pay off our never ending debt.

After that there's actually building a squad worthy of the club's name and reputation...not to mention the stadium which has been neglected for over a decade.

All in all you're probably looking at about $5 billion to buy manchester united and bring them up to scratch. Who out there has that kind of money and would be willing to do that for, as Dunk says, a modest return on their investment?

You can point to the oil nations but they're more about buying minnow clubs and elevating them to previously unattainable status, there's more glory in that.

We can only be a vanity purchase with the numbers involved. Paradoxically the reason the numbers are so high to begin with is because we're already a super club which makes it harder for anyone to get any reflected glory. If some oil rich terrorist state purchased Real Madrid tomorrow and they went on to be successful their owners would be an afterthought. Much better to buy some also-ran who nobodies heard of and make them a part of your marketing campaign.
