Jones and Bailly have a ridiculous injury history and should be moved on, but the criticism Smalling has got has been ridiculous, he's been the whipping boy for a midfield and attack that was an embarrassment to the club pretty much every year since Fergie left up to this year If Smalling had been beaten by Bergwijn as easy as Maguire was first game back people would've gif'ed the shit out of it for £#%&!ing months. |

All players -every single one, including Ronaldo and Messi- have a debit and credit column; you just have to determine whether what you give up is worth what you get back. In Smallings case he was very good in one v one situations, but had no leadership skills, made too many dumb decisions and was absolutely terrible on the ball. If he’s back up to a Vidic/Frdinand cb pairing, fine - however he’s nowhere near good enough to be first choice for a team with aspirations. |

And did you see the way Lindelof turned away from that Zaha shot v Palace, the one where he came inside AWB and De Gea saved? It was embarrassing under 11’s stuff. |
