Agreed re: chip & dink; no way Becks was a lob though. I see a lob as more of a lifting action from the laces.

You can lob a keeper from the ground. I think chips are inside/outside foot wedge actions, where lobs are centre foot actions with more scoop.
Incidentally, I’d say the difference between a chip and a dink is in the distance and the goalkeeper position. Chip is further out against an upright keeper, dink is closer in against a prone goalie; almost a baby chip as it were.
It’s good that people are finally getting these things off their chests.
