International breaks really are a graveyard for managers

Done a good job at Villa for the most part Smith but he’s clearly taken it as far as he can

Been excellent for them.

FIVE bad games and he’s gone. Wasn’t even the slightest noises about him going anywhere in recent weeks or months.

FIVE.

Meanwhile…

Totally, very strange decision. Who are they going to get who'll do a better job?

First season: promotion
Second season: kept them up
Third season: 11th. Cup final
This season: sacked after 11 games.

Wow. That’s really really harsh.

don't worry, our owners will get to the point where they need to blame the manager for their own failures soon.

I think Carragher is right here that clubs now look a managers like they look at players
If we can upgrade and improve on them then we’ll do that

They no longer run the football side of these clubs, they just coach the first team squad and that is it
It’s not a big deal for these clubs as the medium to long term decisions at football clubs are no longer made by managers
