did they use GSOGQ as their anthem or a Scottish ditty ?

Me neither, but I do think it was used in the Commonwealth games and stuff around that time. IIRC Flower of Scotland came later.

yeah, i can see them using FoS at the Comm games because dont England use LOHAG ?

but with it being a world cup i was wondering which one they used....only 6 matches in total so easily forgotten ...

78 was the first WC I remember watching. And I remember that £#%&!ing song too.

Seriously for a minute, and it's a trifle hard to believe I know, but Northern Ireland in '82 had Dana's All Kinds of Everything as the anthem, due to the other options being a touch sensitive at the time.

I guess those other options were possibly GSTQ and Danny Boy?
