Theoretically Eric w/ Mount & Bruno is trying to resurrect the Cas/Kroos/Modric trio. Cas didn't play in a double pivot there either, and neither Kroos nor Modric are the most defensive or pressing of midfielders.

So far though ..

Keeps it simple, reads the game well. Still getting up to speed with the league, but that’s normal.

He was pretty poor tbh, gave it away quite a bit, looked sluggish in the tackle and got in the way of the defense building from the back.....
