It's a measue of how far he's come since last year that I saw this thread bump and was actually slightly worried he may be injured.

Another 'caust last night.

I couldn't get what all his fans saw in him, and then it came to me: Kindred spirits.

It's all the lads who can't kick a football straight isn't it? Can't control a football to save their lives. Worst players on any team they ever played in. They see themselves in Wan and live their dreams through him.

He’s been one of our players of the season tbf to the lad.

Improved massively on the ball.

He needs to improve equally as much next season & actually contribute at both ends.

One assist (in the league cup) is just not elite level. Shaw has 5 on the other side, & a goal. Hardly setting the world alight either but just imagine how helpful spreading an extra 5-6 goals or assists around the side would be over a season. It's a team sport & we don't score enough. Everyone needs to pick it up.

Difficult to understand what the barometer is for some people.

Luke Shaw who has easily been one of our best players, you think is shit and AWB who has probably had five half decent games you think is one of our players of the season

Yes he’s improved but that’s not saying much but a RB would come just behind a striker for me in terms of positions we need to address urgently.

Wan has set the bar low in attack. We're thrilled if he doesn't fall over or embarrass himself. He's doing well, but I can't help but imagine how much better a proper footballer would be in those attacking positions.

He’s getting better and better. Defending is sound and his runs into forward positions are very good. Just the end product needs to improve, but that’s also on the strikers finding space in the box.

Not every team gets a lot of assists or goals from their full backs
Look at City at the moment, Walker doesn’t offer quality going forward and they are playing CBs at left back

He’s improved enough to be given another season and allow us to concentrate on the spine of the team by signing a centre forward, goalkeeper and central midfielder

Shaw has the ability to be one of the best full backs in Europe, but often turns into a lazy fat bastard for parts of the seasons and has also downed tools a number of times over his time here. He’s held to higher standards compared to someone like Awb because of his natural ability. Also you must have missed me praising Shaw over the last few weeks and mentioning him being one of our better players…

Not that hard to understand unless you’re a complete and utter moron.

Improved enough that the RB position isn’t as pressing an issue as it was.

He was absolutely brilliant. Genuinely one of the best full-backs in the league on current form.

actually set the tone... starting off attacks with decent get out passes and marauding runs.

also made some crucial interceptions, clearances, tackles, especially in the first half.

This. Should’ve scored though when he inexplicably turned up at left wing and checked back in his right instead of shooting with his left
