weren't so keen on quoting the rulebook that day, were they? Things like play to the whistle and 'only the ref can award free kicks'.

If it favours United, it's controversy. If it doesn't - ah well, let it slide.
Even after the derby there were match reports talking about van Persie scoring from 'a controversially-awarded free kick'.

But even when they are acknowledged, they get airily brushed off with "these things even out over a season" or similar flannel......

United get anything remotely controversial in their favour, and the media mention it non stop for days if not weeks :shakehead:

to be fair, if evans had just left him, it would have been offside. if the gormless @#%&! hadn't been trying to hold and failing, he would have something to complain about.

pretty blatant handball stopping a goal, though.

Fergie being laid into by every two-bit tabloid journo on twitter. :shakehead:

To his credit, Ian Darke on the ESPN broadcast noted that the Newcastle coaches were just as guilty.

Again, shock horror.

He quite openly holds them all in total contempt so they never miss a chance to stick the boot in.

They hate it when joe hart makes a mistake, when they updated the scores on radio 5 earlier the bloke sounded ashamed to have to say "and you have to put it down to a mistake by Joe Hart". It's like there's some kind of Savile-esque media cover up, (other than Keano) nobody dares to highlight anything to suggest joe hart isn't the best goalkeeper in the world ever.

You see his post match interview? Like a stroppy child who had his sweets taken away. Embarrassing from an England international.
