Default A bit of perspective

Of our current outfield playing squad, we currently have…

6 injured

Malacia
Shaw
Martinez
AWB

Mainoo
Diallo

2 missing because of suspension

Antony
Sancho

2 just coming back from injury

Martial
Mount

2 who nobody wants at the club, but nobody would buy

Maguire
McTominay

…and rashford so out of form it’s pitiful to watch.

That’s a lot of bad, and it has a big impact on performances, especially when players signed to strengthen midfield have to play left back to cover the injuries. But better days lie ahead. The injured all won’t be injured forever, the suspended will return to the team or stopped from being a negative influence, and we will hit a run of good form again. Hopefully soon.

We went ages without losing at home. That wasn’t luck. We will do do again.

Still team Haggers.

That will magically fix everything.

It’s clear to see.

I love the old “ but what’s his style/philosophy” lazy journalism trope people are pulling

Not like for 18 months he plays possession based football. When we have the ball we go to a back three, create an over load on one side and on the opposite wing have a player free.

Try to win the ball back quickly and if not revert to numbers behind the ball.

Now granted they’ve been executing it poorly. But anyone who claims “no style” is just an idiot. You just have to watch the last 18 months and it’s clear to see what he’s trying to implement .

Sometimes it’s worked perfectly, like the Tottenham game last season and countless others .

We got to see it midweek even , ok it was against a poorer palace but you could see the style of what he’s trying to do and implement .

Bald is best.

I always want to be in the opposite camp to you.

Not meaning to disrespect you or anything because i too, support the ME TOO campaign…but can i ask if you are a female? (Scientifically speaking not what you identify as)

Thought this was going to be about someone dying.

Boohoo, we have injuries like everyone else. We’re still shit.

Sorry to disappoint you, be a much better thread to click into if someone had pegged it.

We’re absolutely £#%&!ing shit.

Perspective is definitely helpful, but I find it hard in the immediate aftermath of an absolute horror result like today.

The worse thing is that we looked like a semi coherent team mid-week and at Burnley and then we deliver that mound of cold sick up.

Most of our possession looks like we're running down the clock. It's at such a slow tempo too.

We don't seem to have any plan against sides that concede possession to us and then sit deep.

There’s not enough movement, not enough risk taking (with and without the ball) and then some of the most brain dead decision making I’ve ever witnessed.

Saw this at the emirates….

We were just passing the ball between the keeper and the defenders and then on here some were saying we controlled the game in parts.

It’s almost nervous possession that a minnow attempts when away from home in a cup tie.
Just pointless.

I think at the emirates we were hoping they'd rush into press and we'd play around them. We also basically played for the draw but with the hope of a counter-attack goal or two. It almost worked. I can understand it in those circumstances but palace were never going to press in the same way. It was just aimless today.

How many freekicks did we get around their box? £#%&! all. That's the normal route to goals when teams are sitting deep and you've loads of possession. A few intricate one-twos and force them into fouls. We are so predictable. It's like fifa (the video game) and you only do the ground pass. You can do loads of passes but you're not actually doing anything except wasting time.

Tbf is it really a shock we currently have no identity when we’re a patched up side and integrating a few new signings because they were either signed late (again) or we’re signed while injured?
