Default Zidane

Not doing bad is he? Yeah yeah look what they spent but more likely than not to win back to back European cups and the league this year.

Absolutely loved him as a player

Barca must be seething. If Madrid win it this year then their greatest ever team haven't even made a dent into their European Cup tally.

Ffs though, Madrid going for 12?!!

If only he'd have dropped down a couple of divisions, or gone to a club struggling to avoid relegation, he could have proved himself before he got the big job.

Pretty much what he did as Real's B play in the proper leagues.

Was it Borsuk that used to make the elaborate argument that Zidane was overrated ?

I think a few people thought he wasn't even France's greatest player(Platini), and found it laughable the way he was being hailed as the greatest player of all time by some.

Certainly worth a debate, but Zidane's ability to control a game (& a football... dat first touch ) at any level as he got older was unsurpassed.

There's an excellent documentary on Netflix called "Les Bleus" that Zidane comes out of quite exceptionally well, not just for his ability on the pitch.

Absolute legend.
