Jeez, if only someone had heard of this bloke before the scousers bought him?

Though tbf, why go with the glaring obvious when you can pay a bit more to get one over City and get Fred

He's a squad player and largely been shite. Why didn't you start a thread about Henderson or something? Or are we doing this with every player we were linked to once upon a time?

He did well.

But he was up against the worst Barca team in 10 years last night

He's also been very good all season and was clearly good at Monaco.

As ever, we missed a trick.

Yeah well we could have used him when we were then.

Most Liverpool fans I know think he's useless.

He was good last night but he hasn't set the world alight there.

Just the ones that were universally obvious to everyone. You can forgive freak lucky signings.

Bit chippy aren’t you Ed

He’s hardly been very good all season, he took months to get in the side.

Think one of the initial problems with him was his fitness, so if he’d come to us he’d probably be waddling around at twice the size he is now.

Another one the Big Man wanted iirc. Got Darmian instead

Everyone of their midfielders would look shit in our team

Fabinho, Henderson and Miller sometimes Wijnaldum
That is bang average but they have a way of playing that they completely believe in and that raises all their levels

That game when Monaco came to Arsenal

Couple of yous saged Martial at that. Fab would have gone the same way, talent snuffed out by the overwhelming cynicism of this dying club.

Of course it's fitness. Liverpool, Spurs and the like all demand 90 minutes of pressing from their players, we saw yesterday how relentless Liverpool are at this point but when Klopp first went there they went through patches of looking absolutely £#%&!ed. It takes time, another reason why we shouldn't be writing Ole off just yet as it seems one of his big gripes with our squad is their lack of fitness.

They're fit, confident, asked to play football they enjoy and believe in.

It's the polar opposite of what has been happening at United for 6 years. Throughtout Mou's & LvG's tenure they were unfit (LvG wanted double training sessions; they saw their arse), devoid of confidence (the whole club, thanks to Moyes, never quite regained), asked to play football they can't get their head round (LvG) and clearly hate (Mou). It's been and remains a £#%&!ing mess.

This is the key factor.

We have issues with our players, but when there's no plan, no belief. No genuine shared goal, then it's going to massively impact on what a player gives and how good they look.

Again, look at some of the shit in that Liverpool squad: they look way above their level because they're absolutely buzzing going after something they all believe in.

Ours are the opposite.

All their players would look worse in our team. All our players would look better in their's.

Plus he’d be concerntrating on his ‘brand’ too much to give a £#%&! about what happens on the pitch.

When we actually played Liverpool a couple of months ago they were shite and kicked us off the pitch.

Funny thing confidence. It broke ours and theirs which looked brittle then has gone from strength to strength.
