Buyout clause goes back to 100m euros next summer, we will surely be in the shake up for the league title and hopefully win it. With Griezmann + a couple of others we should be making signings that will push us back to CL winning material. Who knows, someone like Martial, Rashford could easily progress into something ridiculous as the season continues. We always forget how much improvement can come from players already at the club.

Very exciting times tibbers

Leicester at home next? Calma...

Ammers and Swansea, not exactly tough opening fixtures.

We already have the best squad. Lots of options, different profiles whereas other teams barely have anyone of real note beyond the first 13/14 players. Injuries and poor execution hampered the league challenge last year but the talent was never in doubt.

Without breaking sweat we battered this lot. Killed them on the counter and pretty comfortable when they had a spell of possession. Machine Utd.....

I read that Fellaini has played 60 minutes this season and Utd are 6-0 to the good with him on the pitch

All a bit like Bitters or Scouse for me at present but if they both got the title based upon their football before September.................

Team has been ruthless in first 2 games and look loads like the utd we all (most of us) want but it's 2 games out of a very long season

not sure greizman would be a direct replacement for mata in that set up though, more like it'd be for mhiki or rashford plus martial off the bench.

Thumbs up

Awesome final period, with so much pace in attack, mixed with some clinical finishing on all three of those second half goals. That electric pace and finishing are the two key things we've missed in recent seasons. Rashford looked brilliant at times in the first half; that turn.

Jones was excellent at the back; if he stays fit then a consistent partnership between him and Bailly could be a pivotal platform for the team to build on. They've looked solid so far.

This is definitely a United side that finally seems capable of mounting a title challenge. As for taking us to the next level and getting close to the 2008 vintage, someone like Griezmann would be the perfect funal piece of the jigsaw, as well as a top-class left-back, which hopefully we've already got in Luke Shaw.

Thumbs up

well well well...Mourinho's teams don't play good football eh

superb again today, fantastic at the back Matic and Poggers bossing it in the middle and Miky T looking every inch the player he was in his last year at Dortmund

Lukaku's goals will be as important as Van persie's were in his first season

delighted for Martial looks to have dropped the slapped arse routine and is back to his best, should start ahead of Rrashford imo

we've scored five goals in two games since Fellaini came on as a sub :justsayin:

hops SouthSnideRed enjoyed it as much as I did

As the saying goes, you can only beat what's in front of you. And all too often last season, we didn't.

Just a word on today's opposition - where the £#%&! are Swansea going to get their goals from now that Sigurdsson is gone??

Might be worth a punt for the drop methinks.

Llorente's injured but he's a good striker. I still have them down for the drop nonetheless. Midfield is lightweight and half the team I've never heard of before.

One issue with our attacking options could be the lack of true right sided player. Martial and Rashford both look better from the left while Mata and Miki do their best work in central areas. The latter 2 have been quite flexible in the first 2 games, interchanging continually.

Griezeman is probably not that player either but would still make that change for the talent upgrade.

Looking at the 3pm games today, there are so many mediocre teams in this league, should not be that many games where Mou feels the need to start with 3 nominal midfielders.

Great stuff so far but a bit premature to be saying we're back.

There are 3 matches in Oct/early Nov (Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea) and then Arsenal & City at the beginning of December.

By Xmas it'll be clear where we are.

Been banging the drum for a proper right sided option all summer

I can't understand the desire for Perisic as he plays from the left where we have 2 or 3 genuine options, it's Mata or Lingard from the right
