Very good performance from England in the first half but with Lampard instead of Cleverley they stopped keeping the ball in the 2nd half

I know he scored a great goal but he just doesn't have the energy to press like Cleverley and he doesn't get involved enough in the general play

I actually thought the formation in the first half is how I would like Utd to play especially against Madrid.
Think of Carrick instead of Gerrard and Anderson instead of Wilshere alongside Cleverley.
Then with Rooney on the left of a front 3 with RVP in the middle and Nani on the right

I think that would work really well against Madrid
