Not a United hall of famer in reality, but a nice article. he would have turned 60 now, makes you think etc

Hands up if you were at the WBA 3-5 game

Thumbs up

I went to that game with my Dad.

After he scored, I applauded him.

Some bloke in front of me turned round ( I was 8 ffs) and gave me a mouthful.

Right until my Dad gave him an usker

Happy memories

Oh - and spelt Dave McCreery wrong too

Can't remember but Davies played

Was in the United Rd paddock for the WBA game. They had some cracking players as well as Cunningham; Derek Statham, Len Cantello, Tony Brown, Wilie Johnston, Batson, big Cyrille as well as Mick Martin who they bought from us

Some names there - WBA were strong at that period.

Was Big Ron in charge then? Will google.

My brother was friends with Alan Davies, went to same school as all of the Quigley Bros (North Manchester High School For Boys) and my brother shared a room with him on a school football trip.

Extremely sad what happened to him

In the Stretford @ 1.15 those days, a few top class titanic battles with WBA during that period. Have a coolbrostory about a conversation I had with Cyrille Regis in a restaurant about Cunningham and his glory days at Madrid, but I'm not sharing.
