Default Hristo Stoichkov

Watched this great little video last night. True legend IMHO:

Wonder what he would have been worth in his prime, in today's market?

It would depend on his contract situation.

Brilliant player. The quality of strikers running about in the 90s was unbelievable.

Nails as well. That 94 Barca team that put 4 past us were a better team to watch than the Messi team.

I'm trying to think who was in the stands that night; PS, Cantona...who else?

It wouldn't have made that much of a difference if they were on the pitch I don't think.

Reckon Schmeichel saves the second and fourth goals with ease, maybe even the third.....

......and, the first goal was deflected. Jammy bastards!

What a player

Was it him that hated Romario or was that Hagi?

Pleased he was injured in 91 when we played them in 91. That cup winners cup final did proper wonders for our moral (on and off te pitch). He could have made a big difference that night.

I think you’re probably right. One of the few lucky breaks we got n Europe, along with Terry’s slip. That “foreigner” rule. European unity at its best - couldn’t even play Giggs, Keane, Yorke etc = foreigners. Can’t remember the team we had to field vs Barcelona when we got done but Rivaldo (foreign) etc

Yorke is from Trinidad and joined years after the rule was abolished to be fair.
