But surely long term they cannot keep a player worth 80mill and is their highest earner on the bench. So either sell him or suddenly say hes a key player. They also will have to pay him the covid wages, why on earth would he reduce his wages if they havent even given him that.

They are proper crooks and the only reason this deal hasnt been done yet. Dont blame the player, or United.

It doesn’t matter what do if Barca are going to stick with the ‘we owe you nothing’ standpoint. He’s just going to have to sit it out to get his money, and good luck to him imo.

We give him the money he is owed as a signing on bonus. It's not rocket science.

Barca know we'll do it and have backed us into a corner. We've the weakest hand of the 3 parties as we're £#%&!ing desperate.

If we mean business it’s what we should do

If he’s going to be that big a player for us

Didn’t we pay that donkey Sanchez 500k a week?

Depends how much we want him.

Is taking that stance more important than missing out on our primary target and a world class player?

Yes. A key issue that needs to change is the club acting like a big football club. Things like that will breed a piss poor dressing room. Paying another teams wages , whichever way it’s hidden is not the way to go forward.

You want to have the correct environment and attitude in these players , not a team that’s willing the bail out a player who let’s face it ( well within his right), if he really wanted to come to United he would just £#%&! the money off any enjoy his 300k a week United wages .

Or leave and sue them for back pay if it’s contractually obligated by Barca. Whichever way.

FDJ is not the only top quality midfielder out there, this is where the issue comes, put all their eggs in a basket in which United have no control over , it’s really on de jong or Barca .

Club need to make this happen now, the Ten Hag era is in danger of failing to get off the ground without this guy.
Utd cannot afford that.

Surely Barca fans have got some protests lined up with them being in so much debt.
