Graeme Hogg looks like he should be knocking around the shops on Brookhouse all day asking for change.

Had a poster as a kid with the first team squad (or most of it) from circa 1964.

I played against that team

United used to arrange occasional games against open age teams to “toughen the youngsters up”

I was playing for a decent Saturday team at the time and we got asked to give them a game

All I remember was;

We lost 2-0
Lad called mark Dempsey was the star...ran the game
Norman had a battle with both our centre halves
Graham Hogg marked me out of the game, I probably touched the ball 4 times in 90 mins
Sparky played in midfield

I recall in the changing rooms afterwards our lads raving about him....he was by far the best player on the pitch

I remember when I was at uni in the early 90s, one lad was raving about a lad called Nicky who he played against over near Gorton a couple of years earlier, then at the time we were chatting he'd made it into United's youth team. You can see them in local teams, class above.
