Klopp will leave within two years so they’d better hurry up.

Maybe it's just me but I'm struggling to see the schadenfreude in a Liverpool team on course for 97 points and a second champions league final getting pipped to the league by a city team who could average 99 points over two seasons and who are also on the brink of a domestic treble.

I don't know how long the warm memory of said Liverpool team just missing out will last for some of you as both teams will again be runaway favourites for the league next season and two of the main contenders for Europe too.

Liverpool won't match this season again next time round, though they will clearly still be major contenders.

As for city, yes they are a ruthless juggernaut and in the short term its not easy to see who can match them on a consistent basis.

Ah well.

Yep. Both teams will be going for the title again next season. Let’s see how much we want City to win it again* to match our three in a row.

*Assuming they do this year of course

I've read on here that city could win ten in a row and it would still be preferable to Liverpool winning one, doesn't sound like the schadenfreude that some crave is incompatible with city breaking every possible record. I for one couldn't be happier.

Point is, many see city's "breaking all records" as the financial equivalent of doping.

I can't get worked up about City winning trophies, it just doesn't bother me.

That said, if it was City v ISIS in a CL final i'd be supporting the guys in black.

As for Liverpool, I liken their spittle flecked rage with that of the anti-Brexit mob. Their crazed devotion to the cause makes failure hugely amusing to a bystander.

It's nothing personal or deep seated...it's just funny.
