Why is anyone surprised that a bloke who got a team with Skrtel, Mignolet and Joe Allen to within a whisker of a title, scoring a hundred goals and winning 14 on the spin might be a bit decent?

Because people on this forum can't bear to backtrack on their initial assessment of players or managers.

Especially when he's a walking meme.

But as you say, underneath all the cringe, there's a decent manager. Some on here just can't bear to admit it.

Not lessening the job he's done there so far, but Rodgers inherited a quality squad. If you had to pick a combined Utd/Leicester XI, there'd be maybe Maguire, DDG and James who'd get in, that's all
