Default big issue sellers

i was accosted by one earlier on my way to greggs. being in a generous mood today, i duly handed over my pound...only for the f***er to tell me that they now cost 1.50!

i could have sworn they used to be a quid?? now considering tramps aren't exactly in the strongest position for negotiation, a 50% increase for that tat strikes me as a little steep.

he kept the quid as well.

i imagine this is how united felt when bayern demanded 20m for hargreaves.

One: They're not tramps. It could happen to you

Two: It's been 1.50 for ages

Three: Unless he had a badge and bib, he wasn't legit

Four: Keeping your pound without consent is actually illegal, and would end with sanctions against him

There's 2 guys who hang about on King Stree. 1 stands outside Boss and one outside DKNY. They have been selling the Big Issue for years. They are obviously never there first thing in the morning. Too many now are using it as an alternative to work instead of a crutch when times are dire. The economy is so buoyant, if you can stand and speak English, you can get a real job if you want one.
