Make up some new shares, make up a value of said shares, and sell them for a quarter of a billion quid

Suppose it's similar to what the Glazers did in the public offering not too long ago tbf, but the difference being they probably pocketed a big chunk of that money raised.

One way of getting round ffp though isn't it. @#%&!s.

ours was even worse. The shares that glazers sold, didn't even have any voting powers attached to it

I think it's more to do with opening up a Chinese tie for the club tbh.

why do they have to allow a stake in the club though? They could have as well bought a club in Chinese league like they have done in A league, MLS and Japan.

This is a good thing. Someone else now has an interest, just need there to be trouble between the 2 and then the Chinese sell to someone the Arabs hate and bedlam ensues

it's all a load of shite.

I would love if some ridiculous socialist body took over the game. Someone with interest in the sport and development, rather than another #@&%! like platini in it for his own bank acc.

And this fantastical bolshevik idea would encompass united.

Even if it means everyone goes bankrupt and starts again.

Sick of it. A boring corporate game for £#%&!ers.

Just enough to pay Messi's release clause and still be within ffp.

The Chinese have been looking for investment opportunities in Manchester for about 5 years. They're in a number of jv's, property and infrastructure projects already and Manchester city council (all berts) are all over them.

Not sure what the Chinese motivation is other than global dominance whereas the city angle is the club's profile in China which is, as you know, a huge market.

Like dunk says, it would be nice if it leads to some tensions and I don't disagree with fuzzy's sentiment either about how depressing football is.

This. It's all just about money. Who has the most, who spends the most, who makes the most shite. The football is an afterthought.

advertising with some football in the middle

stains from all over the planet tuning into their chosen brand.

Then complaining like shareholders when success doesn't keep coming.

No wonder everyone who doesn't watch football hates it. It has zero integrity. A sport for rafabios.

some of us have been following the one club since childhood. Played the game for years. Deep roots.

Not just rats along to suck the bin juice and complain when it's not salty enough.

At a decent level I hope.

I agree with you fully and it will only get worse. Also very funny that we now find the money side of things disgraceful despite setting the benchmark for it.

But United almost single handedly create the monster. Us getting a 300 million kit deal was all then any other team does it and it's against ffp rules or ruining the game.
