They have been shite. The bench last night had no game changers on it, Wilson and Pereira should have at least been on there.

Didn't someone - probably Serenity, because nobody else would have the patience nor give a shit - uncover some quotes of his saying that subs he makes have little to do with trying to rescue or change a game, but are more to do with preparing for future games?

It makes no goddamn sense, but pretty sure he's said this.

First of all there is no sense in it like much of the other guff he talks about...

And even if he believes it, then we are £#%&!ed since fellaini will start the next game

pretty sure he said he would play his best team last night. and he very clearly didn't. wouldn't listen to anything the old goat says, tbh.

Fergie always had game changers (strikers) on the bench. How many times have we seen a straight swap when the sub coming on won a game for us?
Dozens!
We were bound to come unstuck this season because enough wasn't done in the last window.
We identified the problem on this forum so why didn't Ed and LvG? Oh sorry, It's the process.
My arse.

Because the players they want weren't available? And the alternatives (Pedro) too old, expensive and not good enough?

A 16 year old striker would be much better than having £#%&!ing fellaini on the bench.

Yet neither Wilson nor Pereira were there, so signing a 16 year old or any player just for the sake of it, wouldn't do is much good, would it.

We can only second guess. Bottom line is, if you don't get your ducks in a row at a top club like United then you WIN bugger all.
Top 4 in the PL and and a decent run in the CL is not what United are about.
NB: Our leader has already stated that we will win neither this season. He isn't trying to curve expectations either. He's merely stating a fact.
More should have been done to give us more options up front. It never happened.

Then why not wilson or pereira?

Buck should stop with LVG. He chose these options. He chooses to bring on fellaini every £#%&!ing time when plan a doesn't work. You expect that from sam allardyce not from a manchester united manager.

You don't know what was done. They might have been battering down the doors of several clubs with players they wanted but the clubs wouldn't sell

I agree Wilson and Pereira should be involved, but for some reason LvG doesn't think so

Stop trying to second guess LVG. Lots of people were blaming 'off-the-pitch' reasons for LVG not picking herrera last season instead of just accepting that LVG doesn't prefer him even when LVG himself said that it was tactical.

Its like some people don't want to admit that LVG we are seeing now is a lot more pragmatic than the one they saw in 95.

LVG loves fellaini. he isn't just using him because he is here. He genuinely prefers to play him than many others. If he really wanted rid, he would have already done like he has done to countless others.

United were not pragmatic in the slightest last night. No amount of whining about LvG is going to change that.

He played Herrera and Schweini as a two away from home in the Champions League ffs

W&P not adequate for our needs. Fellers is a complete wash-out also. Our brand of football stinks and our short term ambition borders on .... ? Well, you tell me.

He is pragmatic in his selections. That's the only reason I can think of why he continues to pick fellaini, young, valencia...

How many young players he is trying to blood in pal (apart from the ones he has bought for millions of pounds). Most of them have either been sold or loaned out.

And the 2 remaining don't even get on the bench.

Difficult to dispute the line in bold, tbh
