What constitutes a proper bookshop?

I take it you wouldn't be seen dead in a Waterstones

Everyone knows it's just up the road from Hay-on-Wye.

Actually, I don't mind them at all - I'm no book snob.

I had a good look and couldn't find a dedicated bookshop at all - the "best" was the WH Smith book section. Things may have changed now, of course.......

Oh, and Hay-on-Wye ain't much use for those of us who rely on public transport
