They want Dave because he is a better keeper.
I originally thought it would be £25m cash plus Navas; didn't realise it's including him, which means they're getting De Gea for about £15m. Seems like a brilliant deal for Madrid. They get the best goalkeeper in the world and shift one of their squad players to us in order to get a decent fee.

Looks like we've completely caved by dropping our asking price on deadline day, too. So much for not letting Madrid bully us.

Navas is decent, but concerned with his height in the Premier League - he's a similar height to Barthez.

Madrid have played it perfectly.

Plan all along, unsettle player, buy on final day for cut price.

The same Navas who didn't want to go to us and had to be convinced to join us and be part of the deal

Absolute pisstake

Should have just kept De Gea for the year and told Madrid and Mendes to do one

if we get a decent keeper and a young mobile striker, we're already better off than with our shit keeper and old, sludgy striker.

De Gea would never be the same player for us, yesterday should've been a eye opener for the club but vG has already done the damage.

if you wait til a player is in the final year of his contract when his girlfriend is in madrid, you're not really in the best position to negotiate. I'd rather have £25mio and play boy sam, though. not because navas is shit, but because real can £#%&! off.

Navas is a quality keeper tbh.

Be a good addition.

The bit about Serg is a wum but, genuinely, Navas is decent. Safer pair of hands.

Reports all summer have been that they hadn't actually submitted a bid. How do you United sell him before now if Madrid never made an offer? We were always at a disadvantage once the rat bastard decided to see out his contract.

Could have made him stay a year, but who knows if the precious @#%&! would have started chucking them in. We'd look even more stupid.

Amazing signing for Madrid.
