I would argue it is reasonable for rooney not to play against everton simply on the basis that he never turns up for it.
however, whilst rooney arguably doesn't deserve to be on the team on current form (although his bad form is exaggerated on here), there are a few others who don't really either. what is the point of playing memphis ahead of rooney.... on current form? and, whilst mata is playing well, does he even fit in the team? I'd be happy with martial playing up front on his own, more or less, if anyone played quick balls behind the defence. but that is not our style. |
