Not sure why it's deemed as racist or xenophobic to think the manager of a national team should be a citizen of that nation

Just get the best man for the job. The players have to be English - that's bad enough ffs.

Seems a bit John Bull to just limit it to English players

Couldn't give a shit. Also a frankly stupid debate to be having considering we've already had a non- English manager in charge of the national team 2 £#%&!ing decades ago

There's a sound argument that countries should have one of their own as manager in the same way the players are. Rich countries signing too foreign managers is, arguably, no different from, say, England signing Mbappe from France.

I quite like the idea of the next England manager having to commute across the channel in a dinghy for every set of games, so it’s a ‘No’ from me.

I’d prefer if it was more like the olympics and that the entire staff have to be of that nation too tbh.

Feels a bit like admitting defeat if England were to chase Klopp for instance

Our managers can’t do it, let’s see if you can.

Richard Keys - officially not sexist!

Richard Keys follows up 'racist' tweet about Jamie Carragher by saying only the 'small minded' want an English England boss and asks if the public is 'brave enough' to consider Sarina Wiegman

Personally I think she'd smash it.

I think it would be sexist if the next manager didn't come from the women's team. That's why the only viable candidate is Phil Neville.
