This is like Premier league from the mid 90s.

State of that defending from Connor Coady

Didn’t someone on here suggest he’d have been a better option than Maguire for us during the summer

Sutton saying he should've got in the England squad ahead of Mings. Both shite.

He would.

That's what playing against the best in training every day for 4 years at City will do for your game.

He's far better than anything we've currently got in midfield bar pogba

Yep he’s £#%&!ing shit.

Same person who said we should sign him was advocating we go for Mustafa btw.

Not overall but in midfield they do. I actually think in terms of natural central midfielders we might be the weakest in the top half.

Agree.

We’ve probably only got 2-3 actual midfielders in the squad

Really hope we looking at signing a CM in January.

I don't think Pogba is really a central midfielder, certainly not a deep one, but that midfield three yesterday could be the lowest IQ midfield ever fielded. Three players with no real understanding of how to play those roles. Hard to find that anywhere in the league.

The goodison squeal

every tackle, every slight challenge is greeted with howls from the stands

Pogba is utterly wasted and a deep midfielder. It's a role than negates all his qualities and highlights all his weaknesses, it's utter insanity playing him there.

Agree pal.

I think The Scottish Player, Fred and Matic are the only senior midfielders we have in the squad tbh? And The Scottish Player is better further forward imo.

Aye, I thought The Scottish Player did OK yesterday but he'd be better in a more box-to-box role rather than in a deeper role.

Where the £#%&! is Fred though Injured? Mentally out of it? Or just so bad that he can't even make the bench?

Fred's legend grows with every game he misses...

Then he finally plays and every one says "oh I remember now...."

He's £#%&!ing crap.

Hopefully we see him after the international break...

But then I find him way to erratic to play the deeper role, unless that was just because he was settling into the league last season?

I think if we signed a proper holding midfielder it sort a lot of problems out tbh. We’d actually have someone who can protect the back four while also allowing us to push Pogba further forward which should help the attack out.
