Still can’t get over it. Was convinced they’d bought well with Gapko and would start putting it together post World Cup. How blissfully wrong I was.

They look utterly £#%&!ed. It’s wonderful. I think he’ll leave at the end of the season if they finish where they currently are.

Can't stand that £#%&!er. He epitomises pretty much every scouse supporting @#%&! here, a whiny impoverished looking £#%&!ing @#%&! with a massive impression of himself.

Needs an absolute hiding he does.

This is why it's always ludicrous when they inevitably start indulging in this "best manager/defender/team/forward ever" rubbish every season. Great players don't turn to £#%&!ing shit every 18 months.

to be considered genuinely great you have to do it year after year, and set a standard that you don't drop below. Between 1992 and 2013 Manchester United never finished outside the top 3. And in that 21 year period we were either champions or runners up in all but 3 seasons.

That is why Sir Alex Ferguson is the greatest manager in football history and nobody will ever come close. That's why players like Rooney, Keane, Scholes, Ferdinand are all time greats because they did it year after year. Every season.

I'd argue that we would have won it every year 92-93 - 2000-2001 if it were not for losing our best player in Cantona and Keane

1995 definitely.

1998 i don't know, we had about 7 first team players injured at one point, not just keane. I remember going into that game against Arsenal at Old Trafford with Gary Neville as centre half alonside henning berg, with ronny Johnsen and Michael Clegg in midfield.

Yep, the whole Van Dyke thing is mental. Vidic and Rio were a formidable for years. The need from people to describe Van Dyke as one of the Leagues best ever after one top class season is mental. It's like putting Michu up there as one of the best in the Premier League because he had a cracking season once upon a time for Swansea. But anytime Sky do their yearly 'all time Premier League best 11' you can bet your house that Van Dyke will be shoehorned in by that phlegmy spitty gimp.

Keane said it at the time when he filled his team with Utd players - these lads did it for a career, not a season or two. The hype around what was a very good Liverpool team was incredible.

Also noticing on RAWK the beginning of disquiet around the Nunez signing. Obviously loads of mentalists defending it, but one or two asking the question about whether it was worth up to 100 million for a return of five PL goals so far. Wait until they start to turn on Gapko
