If we done the groundwork on Casemiro, why the £#%&! did we go after that #@&%! Rabiot? By all accounts we agreed a fee with Juventus but his mummy was asking for silly money.

Well it says that ideally EtH would have wanted De Jong & Casemiro, but the budget didn’t allow it. Fee for Rabiot was only what, £15m? So maybe we had the scope to do that and FDJ if he wanted 2 midfielders, but not £60m Casemiro plus De Jong.

Whatever the reason, glad it worked out the way it did.

Casemiro is inquestionably world class. Because he’s one of the best in the world in his position. Just because the position isn’t glamorous doesn’t change that.
