Surprisingly decent piece by Louise Taylor on our midfield maestro.

I'm not one for revisionism, and IMO Carrick was pretty poor for the first half of this season, and most of last season, and his confidence looked severely dented after Rome 2009. However, over the last few months he's really done well, and has become one of our stand-out players.

He was brilliant in the three most recent games against Chelsea, and has been pivotal in the sealing of our title win and our journey to another Champion's League Final. I've said it before that he'll be one of our most important players on Saturday, and if he has a good game, we've got a good chance of leaving Wembley with the trophy.

It would truly be wondrous if he could finally lay the ghost of Rome in two days time

no frills. an invaluable member of united's team. stories of his re-emergence are greatly exaggerated.

seems to think his no show in rome was the result of wrong tactics.

not having some bird telling me what to think about a player.

the bit in bold is the bit i am worried about

I have high hopes for him tomorrow. This will be his THIRD Champions League final, insane. If he does what he has been doing over the past few months we should be fine, the rest of the team will do the work.

I'm not a fan of his and he's been gash most of the season but he's come into a bit of form the last couple of months and hopefully it carries into tomorrow. Get into em Michael lad

Average players don't play over 40 games in a season for a title winning Champion's League final side.

Carrick's a class act. He's been brilliant during the run-in.

Don't think he was shit, but he was under-performing at times.

Still, I'd always prefer a player to come into form during the business end of the season than any other. Look how Rooney's form has helped us at the most important time, despite him having a relatively poor season up until a few months ago.

Carrick gets too much unwarranted stick IMO. He's done well to come back into form and he'll be one of most important players tomorrow.

he was absolute £#%&! right up to the game where we went down to ten men after a sending off(think it was jonny evans could be wrong) and then it was as if he had an epiphany and suddenly started playing good football and has done since, didn't think he could regain his form but he proved me wrong, hope he has a good game tomorrow as we will need him to, this is his chance to put the record straight imo.
