Can't have signed anything, as United would've had to inform the FA and it would be common knowledge, according to Journo's on 5 Live or TalkSport.

The common theory is that Mendes is planting stories and innuendo wrt Mourinho taking over at United because he wants it. Bad. And has nowhere else to go. United are doing and saying £#%&! all, hence the constant pressure tactics from big Jorge.

Also, story comes from a paper Mendes has extremely close ties too

English press running with it as shit scared of missing any scoop, actually know sweet FA.

Apparently..

That applies to pre-contracts with players but I doubt it applies to non-playing staff.

Still find it all a bit implausible. Chelsea and United paying him to be unemployed he'd crawl over broken glass for the job, why the £#%&! do we need a pre-contract with a £15m payout?

Balls that they would have to inform the FA , it just has to be a piece of paper that says X, if he is not employed which he is not they dont have to tell the FA a single thing, it could say utd will enter negotiations, with jose by may 1st or whatever.

Why would they have to inform the FA it's reported as a pre contractual agreement - an agreement to contract with a fee if the option isn't taken up.

They reckoned it does just reporting what I heard. Even pre-contracts have to be reported to the FA.

There's no way United agree to £15m worth of penalties though

It ties someone up, I assume. It wouldn't be one way would it? If Mourinho took another job United would have some sort of complaint you'd have to assume, were a pre-contract signed.

It's basically a potential restriction of trade you'd have to think.

Latest gossip from Gazzetta's front page:

Quote:
Mourinho revolution on the market: 'no' from United; will it be PSG or Real?

Says the club have thought long and hard and spoken with Mendes, but the Glazers have now decided to give the thumbs down to Mourinho. This largely due to the reservations of Charlton and Ferguson that Mourinho would overshadow the club, especially if his rivalry with Guardiola reignites. Therefore, the Glazers have finally decided for someone else. Probably Giggs.

Any danger of the English hacks having some kind of clue?

and why would the Glazers listen to those two ?

Three years of success and an intense rivalry with Pep and Juergen is good for publicity and good for business.. which means profit.

Because they're the two most important living men in United's history, maybe?

I'd start from there, anyway.

They are the only people at board level with any clue about football or any background in the game?

Looks like Saffers was right all along.

Enemies of Manchester United.

Bit rich considering they have stands/statues named after them.
